Aquafarm 2 - Liangxi, Enping City
Aquafarm 2 (AF2) formerly known informally as Enping City Bi Tao A Power Prawn Culture Development Co., Ltd. (EBAPCD), also known as Prawn Farm 1 (PF1) — is in the business of growing prawns (also called shrimp). This is the first indoor prawn farm in Asia, began operations in 2014.
AF2 generates sales from its production of (a) its indoor APM farm with 4 APM production units in 2014 and 16 APM production units from Q3 2015 and (b) its open dam farms producing fish and prawns from a 290 Mu (or 48 acres) of land leased from AF3.
Before the Tri-way carve-out, Enping City Bi Tao A Power Prawn Culture Development Co., Ltd. (EBAPCD) was the proposed name of the future Sino-Foreign Joint Venture company ("SFJV"), subject to approval by relevant Chinese authorities under our application for SFJV status, established to own and operate Prawn Farm 1. EBAPCD began to generate revenue during the third quarter of 2013. Until TW assumed responsibility for all sales and marketing , Capital Award recognized income from purchases of prawns from AF2 and selling them to the wholesale markets. Going forward, AF2 continues to carry out its rotational stocking and harvesting program targeting to increase yields of live prawns annually.
Currently, AF2 grows Mexican White Prawns and Green Prawns ("Big Giant Prawns"). The company strives in all its operations to find technological or innovative means to increase productivity and yield.
Prawns reach marketable sizes of 80 pieces per kilogram, which allows at least six cycles per year. Each tank will grow at least 700,000 prawns to marketable size per cycle. A system of plastic mesh rolls has been installed to keep the giant prawns safe and peaceful. Advanced recirculating aquaculture systems keep the water clean and clear, producing healthy, tasty prawns.
